A technical council was held at ” GURSH “, SUE DPR in Makeyevka on the matter of “considering the design solutions for the construction of fluid drainage systems and issues arising in the course of their operation.” In the representation of RANIMI, FSBSI the Head of the Rock Pressure Department, Candidate of Engineering Science B.V. Khokhlov had a word on the issue of leaving in mine shafts the reinforcement used for pumping out fluid with submersible pumps:

- RANIMI, FSBSI conducts continuous monitoring of the vertical mine shafts condition in the Donetsk Basin. It has compiled a database of the shafts condition and accumulated significant experience in developing optimal parameters for the long-term stability of vertical mine shafts, their reequipment or liquidation. Over the past 15 years, more than 100 recommendations have been developed on the long-term stability of shafts, or on their liquidation.
Based on such experience, it is believed that leaving the rigid metal reinforcement in the shaft in the course of its reequipment for pumping out the fluid using a submersible pump will maintain the equilibrium of the “lining-mass” system under the actual conditions. This is also supported by the experience of temporary drainage system operation in the skip shaft of the “Krasny Oktyabr” mine in DPR and the use of previously flooded shafts of the mine named after “Izvestia” newspaper in LPR.
