The Soil Surface Displacement and Undermined Structures Protection Department of RANIMI, FSBSI got the support of the Russian Science Foundation for its project: "Determining the Impact of Multi-Story Residential Buildings Operation Time on Their Load-Bearing Structures Deterioration in the Donetsk-Makeevka Coal-Bearing Region."
The novelty of the research lies in the fact that in a scientific first a comprehensive analysis of the combined impact of the time factor (building operation time) and the geomechanical factor (territory being undermined) on various types of residential development typical for the Donetsk-Makeevka Coal-Bearing Region will be carried out. The goal is to establish quantitative dependencies between the deterioration degree of the buildings located at the undermined territories and their age. The results to be obtained will enable developing a scientific foundation for ensuring the safe operation of buildings and structures under the condition of mining operations.
