N. S. Fedosova carries out organizational and methodical management of the activities on invention, rationalization, patenting, standardization, metrology, and licensing.
Under the direct participation of N. S. Fedosova the Institute has founded and successfully operates the standardization and metrology service, developed and introduced a quality management system for Research and Advanced Development, elaborated and implemented more than 30 normative documents, arranged and well-established its patenting and inventive activities.
N. S. Fedosova has a profound experience in elaborating and introducing regulatory&technical documents. Under her methodological guidance in the Institute’s first the industrial standard (State Standard of Ukraine) Regulations for Undermining Buildings, Structures and Natural Objects in the Course of Underground Coal Mining has been elaborated and introduced.
She is engaged in drawing up the Institute’s work plans on the sections related to the new developments, organizes the activities on providing the items under the list of development plans with patent and information materials, materials on standardization and metrological support, in determining the types of the Institute’s activities that are subject to compulsory licensing.
N. S. Fedosova participates in the operation of the Council for Science and Engineering and ща the Committee for Intellectual Property of the Institute.
She combines fruitful scientific and technical activities with active participation in the Institute’s public life. From 2000 and up till now she is in charge of the labor union organization of the Institute.
Functions of the Department
Patent&Licensing, Inventive Activities and Standardization Department (OPLIRiS) was founded in January 2003 and till March 30, 2023 it was one of the main research units of the Institute.
The Department carries out scientific&technical and methodological supervision over the inventive activities, patenting of inventions and utility models, it is involved in conducting patent research into technological items to ensure high technical level, patentability and patent clearance of the developed technologies. The Department carries out work on licensing the types of activity, standardization, metrology and regulatory compliance verification.
The functions of the Department also cover translation from/into foreign languages, functioning of the archive, maintenance of the library stock, operations on copymaking and book binding.
Due to the professional work of the Department’s staff, the Institute was one of the first educational and scientific institutions to be entered into the List No. 1 of Organizations-Sources of Formation (Acquisition) of the Archive Fund of the Donetsk People's Republic as the one representing research, historical and practical value.
Results of the Work
Due to the active methodological assistance of the Department’s staff, the Institute has obtained more than 200 Inventor's Certificates and Patents for inventions and utility models. Starting from 2004 and for ten years in a raw the Institute had been confidently winning the first place in the competition of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine for achieving the best performance indices in inventive work, copyright establishment, protection and usage. Five of its employees have been awarded the honorary title of the Inventor of the Year.
Research reports of the Institute, conclusions and recommendations dating back up to 1929 are stored at the Scientific and Technical Archive. The total number of research reports on the scientific&research developments (including those of external organizations), conclusions and recommendations as of January 1st,2018 amounted to 9,605.
The stock of RANIMI scientific and technical library contains 13,350 documents, including monographs of the Institute’s researchers, Collections of the Scientific papers of UkrNIMI and RANIMI (dating back up to 2007).
The Department’s employees are actively involved in the development of standards, normative documents (more than 50) in accordance with the Institute’s sphere of specialization, in the preparation of documents for obtaining licenses, permits for performing special types of work.
The Department provides the Institute staff with materials on domestic and foreign achievements in science and technology, subscribes to contemporary periodicals.
Information on the inventive activities
RANIMI carries out active and fruitful work on the copyright protection. The technical solutions, the titles of protection have been issued for, had been created by the scientific staff of the Institute in the result of scientific&research works on fundamental and applied topics under the active methodological assistance of the patent service.
Since 1975, the Institute has obtained more than 200 copyright certificates for inventions, 11 patents of the USSR and 29 patents of Ukraine for inventions, 124 patents for utility models, 60 of them are still in effect at present.
Seven applications for utility models have been prepared for filing with the DPR Patent Office.
It is necessary to attract specific attention to the technical solutions elaborated by the Institute’s employees in the sphere of mining, geophysics, instrument-making, industrial engineering and environmental protection:
- Method for the Seismic Diagnostics of the Geodynamic State of Rock Mass in the Stope Ore Zone (Patent No. 43364) is intended for determining the state of rock mass over a stope ore in the course of coal seams development under the conditions of possible occurrence of hazardous geodynamic phenomena (sudden coal and gas outbursts, pressure bursts, large collapse of the main roof etc.);
- VEGOR for Checking the Mine Hoisting Equipment (Patent No. 30836) allows improving the accuracy of measuring vertical and angled deviations of the reinforcement elements and ropes from the design position;
- The Method for Protecting Mine Workings against the Coalface Operations Impact under the Conditions of Unstable Rocks (Patent No. 49870) allows increasing the stability of mine workings when the working face if approaching the safety pillars boundaries, while preventing the remedial maintenance and coal losses in the safety pillars;
- Device for Measuring Gas Release by Intervals (UPIG) when Boring Boreholes in a Coal Seam (Patent No. 78496) is intended for obtaining reliable and real-time data for assessing the gas-dynamic state of the coal seam bottom-hole area;
- Method for Determining the Impact of an Underground Pipeline on the Horizontal Displacements of the Soil Surface in the Course of Underground Coal Mining (Patent No. 85566) allows assessing the stress&strain state of a pipeline, determining the need for the use of structural protection measures and their efficiency;
- Method for Partial Development of Reserves in the Safety Coal Pillars (Patent No. 73109) provides for a high protection degree of protected objects against soil surface deformation in the process of coal augering.
A vast number of patents are used by the Institute in its own developments and facilitate in solving issues within the spheres of the Institute’s activity.
