RANIMI is carrying out an active and fruitful work in the sphere of intellectual property rights protection. The technical solutions, the titles of protection issued for, had been created by the Institute's research staff in the result of research work on fundamental and applied topics under the active methodological assistance of the patent service employees.
Since 1975, the Institute has received more than 200 Inventor's Certificates, 11 USSR patents and 29 Ukrainian patents for inventions, 124 patents for utility models, 60 of that are valid as of today. 7 applications for utility models have been prepared for submission to the Patent Office of the DPR.
Particularly noteworthy are the technical solutions created by the Institute's employees in the spheres of mining, geophysics, instrument-making, industrial engineering and environmental protection:
– Method for the Seismic Diagnostics of the Geodynamic State of Rock Mass in the Stope Ore Zone (Patent No. 43364) is intended for determining the state of rock mass over a stope ore in the course of coal seams development under the conditions of possible occurrence of hazardous geodynamic phenomena (sudden coal and gas outbursts, pressure bursts, large collapse of the main roof etc.);
− VEGOR Device for Checking the Mine Hoisting Equipment (Patent No. 30836) allows improving the accuracy of measuring vertical and angled deviations of the reinforcement elements and ropes from the design position;
– The Method for Protecting Mine Workings against the Coalface Operations Impact under the Conditions of Unstable Rocks (Patent No. 49870) allows increasing the stability of mine workings when the working face if approaching the safety pillars boundaries, while preventing the remedial maintenance and coal losses in the safety pillars;
– Device for Measuring Gas Release by Intervals (UPIG) when Boring Boreholes in a Coal Seam (Patent No. 78496) is intended for obtaining reliable and real-time data for assessing the gas-dynamic state of the coal seam bottom-hole area;
– Method for Determining the Impact of an Underground Pipeline on the Horizontal Displacements of the Soil Surface in the Course of Underground Coal Mining (Patent No. 85566) allows assessing the stress&strain state of a pipeline, determining the need for the use of structural protection measures and their efficiency;
– Method for Partial Development of Reserves in the Safety Coal Pillars (Patent No. 73109) provides for a high level protection of protected objects against soil surface deformation in the process of coal augering.
A vast number of patents are used by the Institute in its own developments and facilitate in solving issues within the spheres of the Institute’s activity.
Starting from 2004 and up till 2013 inclusive, the Institute was the winner of the NAS of Ukraine Competition (with the award of first prize places) for achieving the best indices in inventive work, creation, protection and usage of intellectual property rights. Five employees have been awarded the honorary title of the Inventor of the Year.
