V. V. Trofimov is a specialist in the sphere of modern information technologies, software development, geophysical methods for predicting rock mass condition and properties. His basic sphere of scientific activity is research into the processes of seismoacoustic wave fields formation and propagation while taking into account the mining and geological parameters of the rock mass, developing the information technologies for geophysical fields modeling and analysis, processing the geophysical observations results, elaborating recommendations for carrying out predictive seismoacoustic experiments.
Spheres of activity
- development of software for automation of the geological and mine surveying operations;
- development of software for geophysical fields modeling and analysis;
- development of methodologies and software for processing the geophysical field observation results;
- modeling of gas and fluid filtration processes in an undermined rock mass;
- development of geoinformation systems for the coal-mining industry.
The works under implementation at present
- on the development and improvement of the information support methods for mining enterprises;
- on the development of methods for the seismic prediction of coal seam failure while taking into account the stress&strain state and the properties of the coal-rock mass;
- on the development of software for processing the results of field geophysical experiment.
History
The Computer Technology Department (OKT) was founded in 2000 on the basis of the Mathematical Modeling and Software Development Laboratory (LMM&RPO). Since the day of its foundation, the main focus of LMM&RPO activity was research and development in the sphere of elaborating the methods for mathematical modeling and analysis of geophysical fields, information support for coal mining enterprises, as well as developing software for solving issues in the sphere of geophysics, geology, and mine surveying.
Since 1992, software for modeling and analyzing geophysical fields characteristics, processing and interpreting the results of geophysical studies was been developed.
Since 2000, a number of software tools have been developed to provide solutions for various production tasks at coal mining enterprises, inter alia the general-purpose geoinformation system GeoMark.
Since 1996, the works on converting graphic materials and other documentation belonging to the operating enterprises and those under closure into electronic form were been carried out.
