Visit to Voronezh State University from June 25th till June 28th, 2024

In accordance with the cooperation agreement concluded between the Voronezh State University, FSBEI of HE and RANIMI, FSBSI, the RANIMI employees were invited to Voronezh for participating in a meeting devoted to discussing and developing the main areas of scientific and technical cooperation and mutual support aimed at improving the quality of education, joining hands in conducting fundamental and applied research on the issues of mutual interest.
The meeting was attended by:
In representation of Voronezh State University:
– D. V. Kostin– Vice-Rector for Science, Innovation and Digitalization;
– V. M. Nenakhov– Dean of the Geological Faculty;
– I. I. Kosinova – Head of the Environmental Geology Department;
– L. I. Nadezhka – Head of the Deep Structure, Geodynamics and Seismic Monitoring Laboratory named after prof. A. P. Tarkov;
– A. I. Dubyansky – Associate Professor at the Geophysics Department;
– D. R. Vladimirov – Associate Professor at the Recreational Geography Department;
– I. N. Safronich, I. M. Kolesnikov, A. E. Semenov, I. T. Ezhova, E. I. Zolototrubova, M. A. Efremenko – the stuff of the Deep Structure, Geodynamics and Seismic Monitoring Laboratory named after Prof. A. P. Tarkova;
In representation of the Republican Academic Scientific, Research and Design Institute for Mining Geology, Geomechanics, Geophysics and Mine Surveying:
– A.A.Glukhov – Deputy Director for Science;
– L.A. Kamburova – Deputy Director for Economics and Scientific&Technical Activities;
– G. P. Martynov – Senior Researcher;
– A. Y. Gritsaenko – Researcher.
The basic research lines of mutual interest were set forth in the result of discussions on the reports delivered by the scientists and the management of Voronezh State University and of the Republican Academic Scientific, Research and Design Institute for Mining Geology, Geomechanics, Geophysics and Mine Surveying in the main spheres of scientific and practical research and their strategic development at each of the institutions.

  1. Provision for the seismic safety control at the technogenically loaded new territories by way of organizing instrumental observations with the use of a network of seismic stations. Elaborating the research program. Consider it expedient for the Schmidt Institute of Physics of the Earth of RAS to participate in the joint development of this scientific sphere.
  2. Joint research into the underground, surface and waste waters in order to ensure the water supply at the Donbas territory and to create comfortable living conditions for its population.
  3. Joint participation in grant competitions of the Russian Science Foundation and other funds for conducting fundamental and applied research, and as well to conduct joint publication activities.
  4. Involving “classical” specialists in cooperation – geologists (regional geology, prospecting for solid mineral resources, enrichment of ores containing precious metals).
  5. Participation of Voronezh State University students and masters in the implementation of the projects developed at RANIMI.
  6. Consideration of a possibility to organize a joint Dissertation Council.

In addition to participating in a meeting on the elaboration of the joint research program, RANIMI specialists surveyed the seismic stations and hardware belonging to the Deep Structure, Geodynamics and Seismic Monitoring Laboratory named after Prof. A. P. Tarkov, the Head of the Laboratory is the Candidate of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences Lyudmila Ivanovna Nadezhka.
The Laboratory is equipped with a data server for collecting seismic information via the Internet from several stations located throughout the region and carrying out the monitoring on a continuous basis.
The specialists of the laboratory briefed on the stock of their seismic sensors (most of them are SM-3KV and SM3-OS sensors) and continuous monitoring recorders (mainly UGRA recorders of different production years manufactured by Mikroseism, LLC, Obninsk).
Jointly with the specialists of the VSU laboratory, RANIMI employees have installed a seismic station based on the UGRA recorder and three SM-3KV sensors in the basement of the Don research house (of the University-Academic Geophysical Observatory) in the Lipetsk Oblast near the town of Zadonsk. The sensors have been adjusted and seismic signals were been recorded for several hours. The results of the research are under joint processing.
Lipetsk Regional Museum of Local History is located at the territory of a nature reserve. An entry of gratitude was left by the RANIMI employees in the book of reviews of the museum.
The discussions on the further joint research, and on elaboration of the definite program of mutual support in solving fundamental and applied issues within the interest to scientists from both RANIMI and VSU are still carried out.
