The All-Russian Award "For the Loyalty to Science" is granted on annual basis for the outstanding achievements in the sphere of scientific communication, popularization of scientific achievements and promotion of the prestige of scientific activity in the Russian Federation.
The objectives of the Award include not only the popularization of science, but also enlarging the list of scientists engaged in educational activities, ensuring their waster presence in the media sphere, promoting effective communication between the journalistic and scientific communities, developing new forms of communication and forming a positive image of Russian science.
In 2025, the Award will be held for the eleventh time. Applications are accepted till July 31 on the website: https://zavernostnauke.ru/. The award ceremony is scheduled for October 2025.
The Award "For the Loyalty to Science" exists since 2015. Since 2022, the Award is been held within the framework of the Decade of Science and Technology announced by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. In 2024, a record-breaking number of applications for participation in the Award were received - 1,831 projects from 80 regions of Russia. The award ceremony was held in the Zaryadye Concert Hall in Moscow.
The Award is hosted by the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia. As usual the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Kurchatov Institute National Research Center, Lomonosov Moscow State University, the Roscosmos, Rosatom, and Rostec state corporations are the partners. For more than five years in a row, the financial part of the Award is been formed by the Art, Science and Sport Charitable Foundation.
The list of nominations:
- Scientific Media Office of the Year. Media office teams from universities and scientific&research organizations are nominated for systematic and high-quality work on covering scientific achievements and research projects carried out by their organizations.
- Scientific Journalist of the Year. The nomination is awarded to a professional journalist for outstanding achievements and significant contribution to the popularization of science and comprehensive coverage of the work of scientists in the media.
- Digital Content Author. The nomination is awarded to an author (blogger, TV presenter, online content creator), who has made a significant contribution to the popularization of science through the Internet and television.
- Recognition. The nomination is awarded to outstanding individuals who have made a significant contribution to the popularization of science and have become iconic figures for many generations
- Russian Science for the World (nomination named after Konstantin Eduardovich Tsiolkovsky). The nomination recognizes scientific and educational international projects aimed at popularizing Russian science and higher education abroad, breaking stereotypes and forming a reliable idea of the achievements of Russian scientists in the world
- On the Usage of Artificial Intelligence Technology in Scientific Research. The nomination is aimed at popularizing the usage of artificial intelligence technologies in scientific research, inter alia at identifying advanced projects allowing effective usage of AI in science.
- Working with Experience: Scientists' Contribution to Victory. The nomination is awarded to an educational project aimed at preserving and popularizing reliable knowledge about outstanding Russian researchers, discoverers and their contribution to Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
- Special Prize named after Khristofor Ledentsov. The nomination is awarded to projects aimed at informing citizens about the contribution of science to industry and reinforcement of the real sector of economy, and to other research projects in the sphere of interaction between business and the state.
- Special Prize named after Daniil Granin. The nomination is awarded for outstanding projects aimed at creating an artistic image of a scientist in various media formats.
- Science for children. The nomination is to recognize scientific and educational projects in any format aimed at popularizing science and technology among children and adolescents.
- Special prize devoted to the 80th anniversary of the nuclear industry. The nomination is awarded for a significant contribution to popularizing the achievements in the nuclear industry.
