The II International Conference "Azov Development Forum: the Economy of Novorossiya" was held in Mariupol. The event, which brought together over 600 participants including scientists, researchers, and young professionals from Russia and nine foreign countries, was devoted to the current issues of economic development.
The facilitating agents of the event were: the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, the Government of the Donetsk People's Republic, the Russian Academy of Sciences, A.I. Kuindzhi Mariupol State University, Russian State University for the Humanities, Russian Historical Society, and the Russian Science Foundation.
The openings ceremony in the assembly hall of Mariupol State University was held in the form of a panel discussion on the topic "The Contribution of Novorossiya Regions to Achieving the National Goals on Russia's Development." Among the speakers were the Adviser of the President of the Russian Federation Andrei Fursenko, the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Gennady Krasnikov, Head of the Donetsk People's Republic Denis Pushilin, and Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Konstantin Mogilevsky. As well the Rectors of leading Russian universities, Heads of research organizations, and representatives of government and business attended the event.
