RANIMI, FSBSI representatives participated in the conference “Tunnels and Subways of the Future: The First 100 Years”

The international scientific and practical conference was held from June 10 to 11 in St. Petersburg. It was organized by the Emperor Alexander I St. Petersburg State Transport University under the support of the Government of St. Petersburg.

Acting Director of RANIMI, FSBSI A.A. Glukhov delivered a welcoming speech while emphasizing the role of scientific research in ensuring the safety and efficiency in transport infrastructure construction. He also noted the need for the scientists, engineers, designers, and representatives of the manufacturing sector to join efforts for developing innovative solutions in geotechnical support for constructions, monitoring of the structures condition, and prediction of geodynamic processes.

Within the frameworks of the conference, participants discussed issues of tunnel design and construction, subway development, the use of digital technologies and monitoring systems, and prospects for further enhansement of transport infrastructure in Russia and abroad.

Head of the Soil Surface Displacement and Undermined Structures Protection Department N.N. Grishchenkov presented his report on the topic "Transport Ways Construction under the Conditions of Mesorelief." In his report, he highlighted the challenges in undermining utility lines in the course of underground mining operations.

RANIMI, FSBSI participating in the event was an important step in strengthening scientific collaboration with leading organizations of the industry and expanding cooperation in the sphere of research aimed at developing modern transport infrastructure.
