RANIMI, FSBSI employees have published a monograph entitled \"Seismogeological Identification of Gas-Content Anomalies at the By-Fault Zones in Coal Deposits\" under the editorship of the Doctor of Engineering Science, Professor A.V. Antsiferov.<\/p>\n

Challenges in detecting anomalous methane accumulations at by-fault zones in coal deposits using active and passive seismic survey methods are considered in the monograph. The influence \u00a0of geological factors on free methane accumulations formation is examined, the role of faults as a facilitating environment for their formation is demonstrated. The understanding of the patterns of reversible and irreversible changes in seismic rock velocity parameters, as well as the influence of fracturing and fluid type on such are expanded and deepened in the monograph. A physical&geological model for anomalous fracture-type methane accumulation is presented. A mathematical model of seismic wave propagation has been developed for analyzing the possibility to predict methane accumulation zones using active seismic methods. Examples of real predictive seismic survey operations are provided. Trends of development, premises of application, methods, and software for microseismic studies for solving geological issues are discussed. Geological aspects of microseismic data processing and analyzing for assessing fracturing in a coal-rock mass are set out.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>
